Rotorua Lakes Council

Mayor: Steve Chadwick

Rotorua Lakes Council is working toward a post-carbon economy through greater energy efficiency and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, with economic growth integrated responsibly with social and environmental values. The Council is well positioned for this transition with most of their current energy sourced from hydro, geothermal and wind. The Council is enthusiastic about working towards a sustainable future hand in hand with their community and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.
